My new kindle firehd is giving me a headache to set up. Wifi

Resolved Question:

My new kindle firehd is giving me a headache to set up.

Wifi is from my viginemedia broadband and all I want to do is set up e-mail.

My kindle tells me my kindle e mail address [email protected] but does not appear to have an associated password XXXXX do I just pick one?

When trying to add a new e-mail account I tried to set [email protected] on which I do have proper password. Then I am prompted to put in server connection and I used smpt.wirginmedia.com and in the next box I entered imap.virginmedia.com but finally message comes back could not connect to viginmedia server.
What am I doing wrong?
