When attempting to open many of the apps on my Kindle Fire I get a message saying that and error has occurred, please download the app again, I have about 20 apps in use and until now have never had a problem. Furthermore the date is fixed for 1st Jan 1974 and the time shown is incorrect!

Try a reset. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Try using your applications again after doing that. If it still malfunctions, let me know.
