Have N7 all reboot attempts failed. currently have 4.23, fully charged, always end up at black screen with while google on it. showing fastboot mode and lecked state locked. Help, please. tx.

Yes. I have Nexus 7 tablet.


I did this:


pressed power button and down volume


 


got this:


android down with open back, on the top right choices of start, recovery mode, restart bootloader, power off


 


on the bottom left it shows in red color:fastboot mode


and lock state - locked


in addition to other information in while e.g. serial no. etc.


 


I selected recovery mode, pressed power button, got a android pick with a read triangle exclamation mark and written no command.


 


that is where I am now.

When you get the Android screen, please do the following steps:

  1. While holding down Power, tap Volume Up
  2. Use the volume keys to scroll to wipe data/factory reset and press Power to select it
  3. Scroll down to Yes - erase ata and press Power to select it.
  4. If tablet does not reboot, select Reboot System now. Your tablet should reboot and ready for setup.
  5. Connect to wifi and enter your Google account and password to register your tablet.
  6. Use it as a new tablet.

 

If that did not work, do the steps here:

 

  1. Turn off tablet. Press and hold Power button until your tablet turns off.
  2. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power until the device powers on. You should see an image of an Android lying on its back.
  3. Press Volume Down twice, until the screen says "Recovery mode."
  4. Press Power to restart into Recovery mode. You should see an image of an Android with a Red triangle after a few minutes.
  5. While holding down Power, tap Volume Up
  6. Use the volume keys to scroll to wipe data/factory reset and press Power to select it
  7. Scroll down to Yes - erase data and press Power to select it.
  8. If tablet does not reboot, select Reboot System now. Your tablet should reboot and ready for setup.

I did it and now I am getting on the black google screen a start arrow pointing to the power button. I tried it but nothing happened. I also tried the volume down button and can also get the power off, recovery modem restart bootoader options ?

Please select Power off. Then turn your tablet back on. When you see Google screen and an arrow, tap the arrow. It should ask you to connect to wifi and enter your Google/Gmail account to get started.

Hello my name is Paul and I'll be assisting you.

The tablet can be salvaged, but unfortunately it's a very complicated process and you have to be willing to use Windows command line and install some software from Google.

yes. I am trying to charge back my Nexus7. Right now is back to the totally black screen after it was powered off. I'll get back to you when I have at least the google name in white on the black screen. :)

The good news is if you can get to that point the tablet isn't dead.

To continue I need you to install a few programs. These are straight from Google and are designed to help people push software to Android devices.

I just need a little more information from you before we get too far into this. Are you using a Windows PC or a Mac?

The program is called ADB (Android Debug Bridge). It allows your pc to push files to your tablet.
