Hi I have just had my galaxy s3 mini fixed and went to unlock it with my password ***** its not unlocking how do I unlock it without resetting it and losing all my stuff thats on the phone thanks .

Could you tell me, are you using the Pattern unlock or a numeric passcode?

Hi am using numeric password

Were you syncing your device with your Google account?

Customer:

No I didn't .

A. Stevens :

Unfortunately the only way to unlock the device without the passcode is if you had been syncing with Google, which you could then enter your Google account.

A. Stevens :

Had you backed up your device anytime before the passcode got messed up?

A. Stevens :

The only option at this time would be to Factory reset the phone. But you could restore your data if you have a backup.

Customer:

Dame I didn't want to do that how do I do that factory reset

A. Stevens :

Press and hold VOLUME UP and Home(center) button
Press Power until the phone vibrate
Wait until you see the Android logo then release all the buttons.
Select Wipe data/Factory reset with VOLUME DOWN, press Power (right hand-side)
Select YES -- delete all user data with VOLUME DOWN and then press Power
After format, press Power again to reboot phone. (select reboot system now)
