Hi, I am A. Stevens here to help with your question!
So based on your description, I take it that you can not install smart switch on the phone correct?
Yes or so the screen tells me
Right..possibly the software version does not support it.
Are you syncing the Fame with Google+ at this time?
I realise that but it should be easy using bluetooth - both devices are paired in bluetooth
No to your second point - I don't understand the Fame anyway
I know you can send some other things (pics, dovcuments) via SBEAM but i'm not sure about calendar.
Fame = samsung phone, sorry
That's the equivalent model I have pulled up.
I think the best 2 options to transfer the data would be
Android version is 4.1.2
Either to sync your phone with Samsung Kies
Or sync both devices with the same google+ account.
What is Samsung Kies? I've heard of it but have no knowledge
It is Samsung version of Itunes
A software on your computer to sync your mobile devices.
Do you use windows?
Yes on the laptop
You would want the first download, "Kies Download" for windows.
Then you can connect your phone to your laptop via USB cable, and sync the data.
Then you can sync it over to the tablet with the same cable/software.
Forgive my ignorance - I do I sync the two?
First, you would sync the phone.
To the laptop - using Kies
Then you would disconnect the phone, and connect the tablet.
Then sync from the laptop >> tablet
Seems long winded but I'll give it a try
Without being able to use smart switch
this is the other way to do it
otherwise you would need to create a google account (or use an existing one) and sync both devices to the same account
Then you should be able to transfer the data from the phone to the tablet
If you want to use smart switch, you could try updating the verison of Andriod on the phone
I think I'll have a go using google + account first and leave Kies as a backup
Obviously my phone is just a little too old
But I think that would pose more problems, as you would need to backup the phone first, etc etc.
Right..it just has a non-compatible version of Andrioud on it now
Try the google+ account
That should be a pretty easy solution.
OK. I think you have given me enough to go on for now - many thanks
