A. Stevens :

Hi, I am A. Stevens here to help with your question!

A. Stevens :

Could you tell me what the make and model of the adpater you are using is?

Customer:

It is simply described as

Customer:

'Samsung Vehicle Dock Kit for S II

A. Stevens :

Is it connected to your vehicle through an 3,5mm aux cable?

A. Stevens :

Or do you know how it connects?

Customer:

It comes provided with an electric 12v plug. There is no scope in the car to use an aux cable and I am relying on the phone speaker

A. Stevens :

I see..

A. Stevens :

So this is the issue.

A. Stevens :

The adapter is taking over your audio output from the phone.

A. Stevens :

So that's why the speaker does not work.

A. Stevens :

You have to have the aux cable connected, otherwise the audio will not work.

A. Stevens :

Perhaps your could get a casette tape 3.5mm aux adapter?

Customer:

Are you sure? It doesn't take it over on calls. I'll have to try it in our other car which does have an aux input.

Customer:

I have the aux cable but can't use it on my main car. It could still be a problem therefore

A. Stevens :

Yes, calls typically behave differently then the audio from maps.

A. Stevens :

I'd give it a try with the car with the aux input.

A. Stevens :

As far as your main car goes, there are different options to install an aux input.

A. Stevens :

I could provide you some info on that if you can let me know the year/make/model of your vehicle.

Customer:

Ok - but that will be tomorrow evening at the eartliest.

A. Stevens :

No problem.

Customer:

Car in question is an Alfa 159

A. Stevens :

You can just give it a try and return to this chat with the results.

A. Stevens :

I'll respond as promptly as I can.

Customer:

Ok - Thanks

A. Stevens :

You could get that installed in your Afla to have an aux input.

Customer:

You were quite right. Pity there is no reference to this when the unit is provided. Thanks for the tip
