Hello, I receive 'Unfortunately, Touchwiz home has stopped working' when I switch on my samsung galaxy S4. What could be the problem?

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the phone and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the phone and tell me how it functions.

Yes the message came back. It happens when I switch on my phone and enter my pin code and i am on the home screen. Otherwise everything else functions.

ok, the firmware has been corrupted Pamela, and we have to reinstall this via a reset of the phone.
This is going to delete all data (contacts, photos ect) and return the phone to new, but we cannot avoid this sorry.
First, backup anything you want to keep.
Then go to Settings
In the upper end of the screen press the accounts tab.
in the bottom of the next screen press the Backup and reset button.
Press the factory data reset.
Then press Reset device.
Let this complete, then setup the phone again like you did when you first received it and it will now function correctly.

1. Is it harmful to my phone?

2. Since my phone is under guarantee, I would like to visit the shop where I bought it to see if it can be replaced.

3. Also I don't know how to do a back-up.

1) No it is not, and 2) the shop will just do this anyway without a backup, they wont replace the phone.
3) For this you use Kies to back it up on your computer. This you download from my link below

Once installed, you connect the phone to the computer and back up the phone.
then reset the phone and restore the backup
I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.

Can you please go to www.teamviewer.com
Click on Download in the top right.
Go down to "TeamViewer Quicksupport"
Click on Download and download and run the program.
It will give you an ID and a Password.
Please give me the ID (leave a space between each character eg: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9) and the password ***** your next message to me here.
Do not close the program, but leave it open.
I can then connect to your computer.
