I have malware chancegovsprotect on my Samsung s6 . I have tried putting into safe mode and finding the virus but no luck. Any ideas?

Go to settings, Applications.
Swipe to the list ALL and locate in the list internet.
Press it and press Force Stop then clear Data.
Then restart the S6 and it should then be gone.
Let me know the results please

tried that but the virus is not obviously named, the list is long and I'm nervous about stopping the wrong one

you need to do the instructions exactly as I listed, its a series of steps you need to do.
Can you please do the instructions exactly as I listed, you cannot do it to the wrong one as I am telling you exactly how to do it.

I understand what to do and have tried to do it but in order to choose the right app you have to know its name. It is not obvious on the long list of apps which one is the malware. it doesn't say 'chancegovs etc.

The App you do it to is called INTERNET as per the instructions I provided.
I think you may have missed the instructions I gave.. no problem Ill repeat them again
Go to settings, Applications.

ah got it sorry not very technical -yes I did try that and it seems to have worked-very well done, cheered me up after a miserable morning.
