Have you tried the attual charger on other things and it still works?
You could try a working charger from any android device that also requires a Micro USB plug.
If not, your local phone shop should be able to do it :-)

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Kindle and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Kindle and tell me if it charges please.
Let me know the results please
