I have an XR-11XC Sharp projector and the bulbs seem to burn out frequently. Is there any chance that I have too many pieces of equipment running off the same outlet and it is impacting the bulb life? I have my cable box, surround sound and a laptop on the same power strip...

The projector uses enough electricity to need its own circuit. Yes, low voltage will shorten bulb life. When replacing the bulb, make certain you don't touch the bulb glass envelope. Use a tissue or cloth, when handling it.
