Washer will wash but won't spin or pump and now my dryer is complaining that the washer is a slacker and not doing its part. I can deal with the dryerbut need help motivating the washer, what do you think. I am an out of work 55 yr old electrical engineer, with more tools than any two men should be allowed to have legally. I found the wiring diagram and can certainly check some electrical readings, if it would help.
Make: KenmoreModel: 110.26902692 Already Tried: bitch slapping it and generally cussing it out. The drain is not plugged and the inlets are fine. I have lossened/disconnected the control tower and find no indication of heating issues. I have tipped the machine back and found everything to look what I would assume to be normal. No weird stuff oozing from the capacitor and no discolorations of wire insullation, from potential heat issues.
Does the timer just stop at rinse?
Good question. Yes, and I have advanced the dial, to the point of spin and nothing happened.
Ok you have a bad lid switch. You will need to remove the angled panel between the washer and the dryer. Then you will to brackets holding the top panel on. Remove the brackets and then slide the panel forward. Now you can replace the lid switch. You can order the part from this link.
