My Kenmore washer 20712990 won't drain
Optional Information: Make: Kenmore Model: 110.20712990 Already Tried: Pulled out agitator, but I can't find the filter
HELLO
Does it make any noise or is it dead at the drain cycle?
It makes a sound like it wants to drain, for a second, then the dial moves to the rinse cycle, but it doesn't drain and refill it just keeps on washing
OK
I think you will find the lid switch broken, this prevents drain and spin if the lid is open and if broken it will mimic lid open. You need a volt ohm meter to check the switch and to get to it you need to do the following.
REMOVE TWO SCREWS ON THE LOWER FRONT OF THE CONTROL PANEL
FLIP THE CONTROL PANEL UP AND OUT OF THE WAY
REMOVE THE TWO BRASS CLIPS ON THE BACK CORNERS OF THE TOP PANEL BY PRYING REARWARD WITH A LONG SCREWDRIVER
UNPLUG THE THREE WIRE PLUG CENTER REAR OF THE TOP PANEL (NOTE YOU CAN CHECK SWITCH CONTINUITY BY USING THE OUTSIDE TERMINALS OF THE PLUG PORTION THAT REMAINS IN THE TOP PANEL)
REMOVE THE ENTIRE CABINET BY PULLING TO YOU
REPLACE SWITCH IF BAD.
I ALSO HAVE SHOWN A PICTURE OF THE PUMP WHICH MAY CAUSE THIS (DOUBTFUL)
THANKS
