I have just purchased a Bosch Rotak 43 Li cordless lawn mower.

Customer Question

I have just purchased a Bosch Rotak 43 Li cordless lawn mower. The battery charger is designed for the English 3-prong 220-240 system, but I am in the U.S. with the 110-120 system. I will need a step-up voltage converter to allow me to recharge the Li batteries on the U.S. 110-120 system. All of the voltage converters I see for sale are rated 50W, 100W, 500W, 1000W, etc. Do you know what Watt power voltage converter I will need for this mower. The Li batteries are removable and I will recharge them using the charger that comes packed with the mower.

Expert's Answer

This site says it is 1700 watts, check it out for yourself at this link:

So, I would go with the largest wattage you can find.

The link is to a corded 240v 1700W model. The one I have coming is a cordless 36v model, with a 240v charger (3-prong English plug). I will be connecting the 3-prong English plug into a "step-up" voltage converter to allow me to recharge the Li batteries here in the U.S. The voltage converters I've seen have a 3-prong U.S. plug. I just don't know the Watts I need for the voltage converter to recharge the Li batteries. The converters have examples of how many Watts for hair dryer, electric shavers, kitchen blenders, radios, etc., things that you would use the power directly through the converter. But if I'm recharging batteries, do you think I will need that many Watts while plugged in? Thanks.

Accepted Answer

500 watts should work perfectly, but 300 is what is called for if you can find a 300 watt convertor that would work as well.
