I have a Euro pro steam iron on a suction air ironing board on a stand. It is several years old and the plastic under the ironing board cover and plate is cracking severly. What can I use to patch these cracks ? It first started cracking within 3 months after I bought the iron and board. The iron reservoir and board are all one piece. The place where I bought it refused to do anything because they said I must of dropped it which I did not. anyway, over the years the cracks have widened and many more have appeared.
Already Tried: Nothing so far This is a Euro Pro Solution setup purchased in the late 1980's
Have you tired using any thing yet? Super Glue works very well with plastic. Try some in a crack and put pressure to hold it together for the specified time on the instructions. It's almost instant with super glue.
I think this could work for your situation
Clean out the cracks with compressed air using computer duster canned air.
I have used nothing yet. Super glue is not an option as some of the cracks are 1/4 inch wide and there is nothing the apply pressure to to as it is a flat surface the width of an ironing board
Will the cracks come together with pressure, or do you think it needs 'filler'
I believe it would need some sort of filler.
You can use large wood clamps that will easily pull the cracks together
If this could work you could prepare it, clean it and have the clamps ready. Then apply the glue and pull it together and hold it
There are wood working clamps that would work for this
What is it you do not understand. The ironing board is 14 inches wide and 3 inches deep with a step down of 1 inch inside where the cracks are. There is no way to put any pressure on this
the cracks run vertical and horizontally in several places
Then a filler of some kind is the only option
Lay it in the cracks and surface it
smooth and as good as original
something like mortar between tiles
I need a photo
ok I will send you a photo - just give me a few minutes to take a picture with my camera and transfer it into the computer.

Sorry my son is not here with his cell phone that has the camera on it and my Olypus camera has a media card which my computer does not accept. I do not see a gree button tree icon anywhere
I see it now in the toolbar. I can send this as soon as my son returns home tonite.
I have another idea. I can use the media card on another computer in the woodshop. I will try to download the picture there and send it to you.

it will not go thru because it was eml and not jp image
just open the photo and 'save as' to jpeg file

sorry they did not load
ok let me try again to send them
look at the photo I sent above
Those are the two steps to take after you press the green button
where is this photo ?
You should have it saved to your desk top
I think I got the pictures to you this time
You did it!
let me look...
Look at this material. I think you could fill that with this product. It is applied like calking
You could apply this to that crack and try to flex it enough to close the crack
With some pressure applied in the right places it would close and harden
