I have a Craftmade ceiling fan which refuses to turn off.

Customer Question

I have a Craftmade ceiling fan which refuses to turn off. It has a remote. I have tried all the different combinations of the four little switches but they don't seem to have any control over the fan or light. There is a similar fan downstairs which, with much struggle, we succeeded in getting the remote switches in synch with the fan and it now works but the upstairs fan is attached to a very high ceiling and my handyman thinks that the control switches are in the connection to the ceiling, based on the booklet. Can you suggest an easy fix for this or suggest some technicians in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area who might be able to fix it?

Thank you.

Craig :

The remote has a receiver that turns the power on/off to the fan in the canopy (up against the ceiling). It's shorted and leaving power on to the fan. Replace the remote receiver.

Craig :

The canopy is the small cover that fits up against the ceiling. It's in there.

Customer :

OK, thanks.
