I have a matag gas oven model MGS5770ADW. Lately when using the oven it takes two to three times longer for the oven to reach the selected temperature. Some time I hear the "woosh" of what sounds like a delayed ignition. The problem also seems to be more prevalent during the summer when the house is already warmer than normal. Previous to this problem sometimes the surface burner ignitors would not spark. Are the two problems related? Are they electrical in nature? I know the oven has an electric ignitor also but does the gas valve have an element that opens the valve?Robert MulzetEdmond Oklahoma

Hi I'm John I will help you with the problem.
The problem is with the igniter its not drawing enough amperage to burn off all the gas .

replace the element it will fix the problem.
John,
Your recommending replacing the oven ignitor right?
What about the surface burner ignitors - are they related or independant? When they work all four spark at the same time.
Just wondering if this is a bigger problem than just the oven ignitor.
For the oven problem its the igniter for the top sparking have you wiped down the stove before it started the sparking.
Im not sure what your asking.
The problem is it doesn't spark (sometimes) when you turn the burners on. I checked the ports below the ignitor to make sure they weren't clogged.
The problem is intermitant with the surface burners.
You had said they all sparked when one was turned on.
If its intermittent the spark module will case the problem , but as far as the oven its the igniter .
