whirlpool quiet partner ii dishwasher. we had a blockage in the garbage disposal that we cleared. since then the dishwasher will not run, even though we have cleaned the sump pump and all the hoses. We have tried running the diagnostics, but all led's stay on. if cancel is pushed, the dishwasher doesn't reset. if trying to run dishwasher, the start/resume led flashescontinuously. the door seems to be closing fine so we don't think it's the door switch.
Optional Information: Make: whirlpool Model: quiet partner ii Already Tried: see question
Hi, thanks for using JustAnswer.com. Your control panel (touch pad) will need to be replaced. If you post your model number, I can get you accurate, model specific information.

according to the manual that came with the dishwasher, there should be some checks we can do to the diodes/led's, is there not?
There is and you stated that you have run the diagnostics cycle and all the LED's remained on and it would not cycle through the diagnostics cycle. You also stated that the "Cancel/Drain" would not work. These, in addition to the blinking "Start/Resume" light, indicate touch pad failure.
All this started since the garbage disposal blocked up, when we unblocked the garbage disposal some of the water backflowed into the dishwasher through the waste hose. The dishwasher was not running at the time but has not worked since. Not trying to be difficult but are you sure its nothing plumbing wise. We have since drained the machine and there are no blockages..it just seems wierd that the control pannel would go out like that
The problem you are experiencing is electronic in nature. Plumbing issues would not have caused this. You can try power cycling the dishwasher to reset all controls, but this usually does not work for touch pad issues. Unplug or trip breaker for 5 minutes and see what happens.
ok we agree we need to replace something. we have taken apart the control panel, we have disconnected the ribbon cable and powered the machine on to see if the drain pump would kick on as per the manual. it didn't. So, the ribbon cable has a couple of marks on it that could indicate shorts. does the entire control panel come as one piece with the circuit board, keypad & ribbon cable?
Yes, the panel and membrane switch come as a complete assembly, minus the electronic control. The control comes separately. I can get you links to the correct parts with a model number.
i believe the model no is(NNN) NNN-NNNNfrom the tag on the inside of the door.
the keypad & ribbon cable assembly is what we need. what is the price and lead time?
Model number will be like GU1500 or something, usually on the LH side.
there is nothing on either the left or right hand side. however the part no for the keypad & ribbon cable is(NNN) NNN-NNNNrev. E 28 vd.
That won't work, it is a production number. There is no tag on the TUB, not the door, directly in front of the door seal, usually on the LH side?
the only tag is the one on the top of the door with the first number that I gave you. the front of the dishwasher says whirlpool quiet partner ii. I agree it's not customary.
i'm confused why the part no for the piece itself doesn't work?
It is a production number and does not cross to a current part number.
ok is there another way we can get the model no?
Are there any other numbers around on the tub, not the door?
