My Fisher/Paykel washer keeps stopping during the wash cycle & beeping. I keep having to turn it back on. I'm not sure if it is spinning during was cycle either-may be just filling up with water. I'm running it now with no clothes and no detergent & it's still stopping and beeping.
What lights are on when it stops and beeps?
hello?
the wash and rinse lights
.....there are 3 wash and 2 rinse lights
yes, all of them are on when it stops! it seems to fill with water and then stop & beep-don't think it is agitating! I had to turn it off then skip to rinse cycle to get the water out -Rinse seems to be working perfectly.
Are the spin lights on?
The Lights are the error code, but I have seen if they are all on and the hot/cold are beeping it can be a reversed water line or a line shut off
I think the spin light is on when it does this. RIght now it is in rinse and I am not having a problem with rinse, just when it is in wash cycle.
Can you start a wash and report what lights are on when it errors?
yes-hang on a minute
The reason I ask is it has over 200 error codes and those lights will pinpoint it quickly
I just started a wash with no clothes and no detergent-all 3 wash lights are on-2 rinse lights are on and 1 spin light is on now
ok ... that is a normal cycle
Is it running or is it beeping at you?
I will let you know when it starts beeping
runnning right now
it usually take a few minutes before it starts beeping
k
it just filled up with water-this is where it usually starts beeping-when it is supposed to agitate
right
now it's starting to beep-
first wash light is flashing
ok ... what lights are on and which are blinking
1st wash light is blinking-other 2 are on, both rinse lights are on steady so is spin light
both hot & cold lights are blinking
if the hot and cold are blinking it means there is a valve issue
to test this
Power off
then press wash temp up and hold it while powering on
this will put you into diagnostic mode
wash temp up?
yep, press and hold then power on
ok you mean toward hot temp
Maybe down, if that doesn't work ..... been a minute since I have actually walked someone through it
there is a up and a down arrow on the wash temp section
yes the up arrow
just the cold light comes on, but power does not come on
ok now press wash temp up,
you should hear water running
if you release it does it continue or stop?
cold light is on but no water running
when I release the cold light stays on
it's still on but no power
Power back off
ok
And then press wash temp down and power on
no lights
it should beep a few times and only have a few lights on
spin light on, water leven low light on and softener rinse light on
water level low
not leven
try the wash temp up and down buttons now
yes-hit up and water is running
ok .... if you release what does it do
the other 3 lights still on
still lights on & water running
ok ... see if it's hot or col
cold
hot light is on-let me check water
yep
hot water
ok ... now press it again
and this will turn it off
what
see how long it takes to shut ff
the wash temp?
should be almost instant
press wash temp button
???
wash temp up should turn te valve off
time how long to turn off
oryes
yes
hit wash temp up-almost instant turned off
3 lights still on-spin, softener rinse & low water level
ok ... now do the same on wash temp down
but no water running
ignore the lights in this section
ok-hit cold water
it's running but more slowly than hot
how much more slowly
just felt it-it is cold
like just a trickle
just a trickle
ok that is your issue
what?
when it's trying to fill it will error out if it's not getting enough water pressure
You need to replace the cold valve
they are seperate on this mode
l
where is the cold valve located?
is it easy to replace once I find it
it is under the control panel (2 screws on the back) and the cold hose hooks to it
Yes it's very easy to change
2 screws on the back access it, and then 2 screws hold the plate that holds it in and it pulls out, press the new one in and your good to go
Be sure you unplug it water and electricity don't mix
You will need to order it from F&p directly
so I can get one at Home Depot or Lowe's?
don't buy from any online places as they could be refurbs .... f&p doesn't use resellers
noe
nope
They don't sell parts like that
oh my-I have to order from them & wait for it to come in?
yes, or if you have a f&p repair shop in town, they might stock them
I keep all of them on my van
But I'm in nashville,tn .... I'm sure nowhere near you
yes!
I'm in Old HIckory
near Mt. Juliet
WHAT? crazy
What is your model number?
Iknow!
hmmm where would that be?
on the back top deck .... left side
back of the machine?
should be a GWL 15 or a GWL11 or something like that
GWL 15
ok ... lemme look it up and see what part number yours takes,
how does it go bad?
something I did?
The company you need to call is www.allbetterappliance.com XXX-XXX-XXXX ...... remember I'm not allowed to work with you directly through here, I can only refer you to a local servicer :)
Just the trash and sediment in the nashville area ... see it OFTEN
just a moment I'll check part number and all
yes, but they will want to come out & diagnose it
or you mean I can just get the part from them
they is .... me ....
oh!
got it!
:)
I'm not allowed to schedule anything with you .... I refer people to servicers all the time though
Since your local ... I highly recommend them in the nashville area
sounds good to me!
and then I can get the part & get my machine up & running!
Just a few mins ... their site is very slow
no problme
should I just email & ask for the part?
do I need to come get it?
Just a moment, checking stock and all now
Yours is a dual valve
do they have it in stock?
Hot and cold made together ... up to the 12 they were seperate on the 15 they cmbined them
To save me a bit of time do you have a product code off the back
96155a or 96155b etc?
it's a bit smaller print than te model and to the left of both model and serial usually
Just wanna be sure I'm giving you the right part number
looking now
96155b
ok .... I have the part number as 421177p
It retails for 88.97
of course it does!
If you wanna give them a call they can let you know about availabiity and all
ok-guess they open around 8?
you can probably call tonight :)
