I purchased a homedics rechargeable sports massager while I was in the UK over Xmas. I have returned to Vietnam where I work. I removed it from the packaging and charged it for 6 hours. The green LED on the charger was on when I removed it. The hot and cold functions appear to work however the vibrator function does not. The Lights come on but there is no vibration. Obviously the cost of returning it to the UK for repair would exceed the cost of the machine. Is there anything I can do to fox it? I am reasonably handy.

  • I would charge it for another 2 hours since the massager motor requires more power than the other functions.

  • The massage motor has an offset weight on the end of the shaft.
  • This causes the unit to vibrate when the motor is spinning.
  • Disconnect the power and open up the unit.
  • Be careful not to short-circuit the battery since it will catch fire within seconds if the battery contacts/wires touch each other.
  • Check that the offset weight is present at the end of the shaft.
  • Check the contacts to the commutator at the other end of the motor are both in position.

  • Reset the controller by either disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes or running the hot/cold functions until the battery completely discharges and cuts off power to the unit.
