My whirlpool dish washer is not draining suddenly, I've taken apart some of the bottom (spinning arm, mount below that) but still cannot figure out what to do next to check for a clog in the system?
Optional Information: Make: Whirlpool Model: 280-1
Hi Im John I will help you with the d/w problem.
The model number you sent isn't in the system did you get that number off the model number plate, Its located in the door opening.
how about a Whirlpool quiet partner II?
Open the door you will see the model number .Quiet partner isn't the model number.
Du930Pwbko?
Does the motor start up in the drain cycle its suppose to reverse to drain out the water .
I don't know, it appears to run through all the wash cycles and dry but the pan is holding water.

That model has a check valve screwed to the side of the pump and motor housing and if clogged up will case the no drain, Remove the bottom front panel and unscrew the check valve to clean it out.First bail out the water cause it will leak the water out when you unscrew the check valve.
Okay am going to try that now, I will let you know shortly the results....if it is clogged how do I clear it?
If its clogged up just remove the debris clogging up the valve.
valve is pulled, water drained out....couldn't see anything that would've been considered as a 'clog'....how can I tell if the valve itself is bad?
If the valve is clear and the motor reverses the drain and wash impeller has to be replaced as long as the drain connection under the sink is clear.

Well at this point then I think I am in over my head....is there any possibility the valve itself is bad? If not then I'll put it back together and call a repair tech.
If the valve is clear and the drain under the sink is clear put it back together and try it if it works you cleared it if its the same and you cant replace the parts then yes call in a tech.
