We bought a Microwave Hood combination. A major part of the airflow goes outside through the vent, but some of the airflow goes to the inside of the kitchen enough so that grease araound the Microwave Hood combination is building up on our brand new kitchen which is very frustrating. I'll be helping you with your problem today.Really, the problem is that this hood just doesn't vent well, and most microwave vent hood models don't vent that well. Kitchen Aid came out with a model that vents really well but it's about $900 for the microwave. There isn't anything you can do to improve your current microwave, but you can replace the microwave and get a different model if you wanted to get better results.
I think $34.00 is too high for this kind of advice. Can you tell me at least if there is some kind of additional filter I could install ot improvise something to get better grease removal? Thanks

Yes, they make option charcoal filters that you can install above the grease filters. They are designed to remove odor and smoke, but they will also remove grease if the first filters don't stop the grease.
