I have kenmore dishwasher model 665.16033402 It wont start. Have turn power off and on. Ran diagnostice test and it went through test but still wont start.

Hi my name isXXXXX will try and help you. If you were able to complete a diagnostics test and it worked, it sounds like the start button is not responding when pushed. When you select a cycle and have it set, what happens after you press the start button?
If I select normal wash the normal wash led and heated dry led comes on but when i press the start nothing happens.
Ok the control panel is bad the start button is definitely not responding/communicating, the repair is to replace the control panel.
Is that the whole circuit board?
Yes it is, the switch assy/buttons are built into the control panel.
The dishwasher is 6 years old. Should i repair or buy a new one and if new what would you recommend. I just want a reliable basic dishwasher thats quiet. Dont need bells and whistles.
The control panel is around 120 dollars if you need a technician to install it would be another 120, 8-12 years is typically what you get from an appliance under normal use. I would recommend whirlpool appliances or maytag, As far as bells and whistles i agree the more bells and whistles the more that can fail. Most dish washers have the same pump and motors built into them the rest is looks and features, if you buy new, look at the racks inside to make sure it fits your needs and go with the least expensive model.
