Hi. You replied to a question I asked 1/19. I had to change JA accounts technical problems. The question started with "PLEASE DO NOT REPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH BOSCH/THIS MODEL SHI6806UC. THANK YOU.Bosch SHI6806UC Dishwasher approx 12 years old"New nameCustomer I want to continue that question. What are the part #'s of what I need?
Hello, I answere a lot of questions so can you refresh my memory on what we were talking about?
MY QUESTION WAS:Bosch SHI6806UC Dishwasher approx 12 years old. SYMPTOMS: 1. Not cleaning well (water spots on glasses / dishes must be rinsed 99% clean by hand first) 2. 96 minute regular cycle 3. Getting louder (motor hum / water sloshing) 4. Occasional leak at front right. No water in sump/drain after cycle. Using Jet Dry and Method tablet soap. Dispenser appears to work (soap gone at cycle end and rinse agent reservoir needs refilling). I have replaced the circuit board twice. Water for entire house is softened (new softener).I am a very capable do-it-yourselfer.
Hello, I am very familiar with your unit and work on them all the time. Take off the kick plate. It's kinda hard to see from the front so if its not too hard to slide out without disconnecting it do so. If you can once it is out remove the right side cover. If not look from the front at the motor housing it is hard to see though(you can see it much better with the right side cover off). You will probably see leaking or past leakage from the motor. Where the motor connects to the pump is where they leak, hence the louder noise when washing. Now this can be a compounding issue. When water leaks out of the motor it can trigger the flood switch stopping any more water from entering your machine, hence very poor cleaning results. Then the water evaporates during down time and you repeat this process, but it will soon fail completely. This is a very common issue especially at the ripe age of 12. If you see water dripping out from the center area of the motor you can fix it, but the motor is not cheap and not super easy to put in. Let me know AndyAndy40927.4892449074

FURTHER QUESTION:
What are the part #'s I would need and where might I find instructions on installation? I'm pretty capable - instructions couldn't hurt though.
Rick
The part number for the drain pump is 167082. Here is the breakdown.
Ok. Drain pump.Ebay $72. Hardly expensive (great!). However, your original answer said something about the Motor which links to the drain pump. Would it be prudent to (1) check for the leakage you mention and then (2) replace the drain pump - give the dishwasher a couple of loads to see if it's fully fixed. If not (3) replace the motor. If so i'll need the motor part # XXXXX instructions please. Let me know what you think of this plan - and thank you. Rick
The main motor is a very involved job. I would check it all out before going down that route. Hopefully you do not need that!If you need that motor let me know. The instructions are very extensive and it will take some time to get it together.

Good day. I replaced the pump as you directed but the unit still washes poorly. It is not fixed. I am willing to ask another question for another $13 if you require. Please advise
Yes, what is your question I will see if I can help you.
I replaced the drain pump part 167082 as you directed but the unit still washes poorly. Dishes/glasses/flatware are rinsed 90-95% clean before the diswasher cycle but are not completely clean afterward. There is approx. 1.5" of water in the drain sump after the cycle. Bosch model SHI6806UC dishwasher
There always be some water left in the sump no matter what. You should not be able to see the water unless you take the filter screen out. As far as the cleaning goes you have to make sure the incoming water is at least 130 degrees, there is enough water, the main wash pump runs, the wash arms should be turning and clear and lastly there has to be enough water in the unit. If you have checked all of these things and have cleaned out the unit it should work. Check that stuff and let me know
Ok i will check what you listed BUT a few things I don't know how to do there is enough water ?? AND HOW DO I CHECK THISthere has to be enough water in the unit HOW DO I CHECK THIS
The water should be covering the bottom of the dishwasher. You should be able to see the water level approximately 1 quarter inch all the way around the bottom of the unit.
Ok - I will check everything and mail you back. I did find one significant thing - the lower wash arm had cracks where it clips on to its supply tube and was definitely leaking and lowering spray power. I'm plastic welding the cracks and ordered a new arm.
