mah3000aww, s/n 25100092uk when pushing the start button, regardless where timer is at, machine starts to go into spin for 2-3 seconds then shuts down. performed motor and motor control test and passed. did motor phase test and passed.checked machine level, was ok. checked wiring and connections and found no problem. i suspect machine control but wanted to make sure before ordering.

Welcome.....Have you completed a diagnostics test on the machine control..?
no, don't have info on how to do. A while back I did repair the wax motor problem replacing several parts on the board.
If you have not open the upper control panel..Inside will be a tech sheet..With it you can do a diagnostics test starting with the membrane(keypad) to the machine control board Etc.Replacing parts on the board might be your problem..Most often it is best to replace the complete board..I know there is a door lock board failure quick fix..But it does not hold up..MasterTech40938.8478349537
I did this repair over 2 years ago, so i'd say it held up pretty well. this machine doesn't have a keyboard and the tech sheet doesn't help much.i went through the troubleshooting section and that didn't reveal the problem. i should note that if i select hand washable option the machine stays on but doesn't spin. under one of those diagnostics it states that if the 3 wire tach circuit between the machine control and motor control is open, the washer will accelerate rapidly for 2 seconds before the machine control shuts down. i checked and had continuity.
Not if it is causing you problems today..Id say 2 years was pretty good in your case....From what you are explaining if the motor and motor control passed the test then yes replace the machine control..That is once you complete the membrane test according to the tech manual...Also please do not forget to use the accept option before leaving today For my time helping you..Thanks BobMasterTech40938.8589903935
Relist: Other.tech didn't tell me anything i didn't already know. didn't offer any tests to run other than what i've already done
You are joking right..?..Your question..." i suspect machine control but wanted to make sure before ordering."...By your answer post..you really did not know exactly what the problem was until i confirmed it for you..Please be fair about accepting for my time helping you today as this is how we make our living..Thanks Bob
I see where you are coming from...If i was there in front of the washer..Thats exactly how i would be trouble shooting the washer..From the tech sheet..You mentioned that you already ran the diagnostics testing on the motor and motor control...Once i did get out of you that you repaired the board yourself at one time and did not replace the board, that right there clarified the situation..I'm kind of getting the idea that my answer confirmed thats what you were thinking and you are not satisfied because of that..I also told you you can do a diagnostics from the tech sheet..(that will verify a faulty control board)..This washer is the first design Neptune Model..Most anything goes with washer as far as problems...It was one of Maytags worst Nightmares .
