I have a Kenmore 970-C45092-00 front load washer. I went to start it last night and it makes the noise like its starting but no water goes in the unit.

last night it worked and when I opened the door this little magnet fell out from somewhere. its about 6 years old

k, tried that . I tried on all water temps. the door locks and it makes that humming noice like when its filling but no water
ok your water valve may be faulty based on what your telling me
is that like the water pump
the water valve is what allows both hot and cold water inside the tub,
water oumo just pumps put water from the machine

would you replace it?
i would say to start with that since it is one of the most common parts to fail in a situation like this.

would you happen to know where I would find the water valve on this unit?
sure ,it is located at the back of your machine towards the top.your water hoses are connected to it

on here there are no water valves just seperate hot and cold inlets, but neither are working
the water valve can is also known as the inlet valve
but when there is a hot and cold seperate why is mine not letting in hot or cold?
two things that would cause this problem.loose connection.or the actul control board has failed

Model Number: 970-C45092-00 Brand: Sears Kenmore Age: 1-5 years Hi, I have an error code problem on my Kenmore Washer (frontload) The Model shown on the machine is 970-C45092-00. The detergent dispenser tray came apart (broken clips) as it has in the past. This time however, a small magnet fell out (wasn't sure it came from the assembly). When I put the drawer assembly back together the machine would not start and showed an error code "ddo". Looking on another website (managemylife.com) suggested 'the magnet needs to be installed so the reed switch will work' (paraphrasing). My problem is that I don't know where the magnet is supposed to go. Can anyone help me??Regards,Ross Priest

ok great.the dispenser drawer has a magnet in it that has to line up with a sensor. if you can put the drawer back in that will solve the problem. if the magnet isn't lost.

try this please.Push the button down on the back side of the soap dispenser that says push down or push here (to take the tray out). When you have it out you will want to turn it over and there are 3 or 4 white tabs. You will want to pop the front part of the drawer off and then on the bottom about an inch in/down there is a small slot to put it into. It is the same size as the magnet and the magnet goes with the squares on the top and bottom. You cannot actually see the magnet when the drawer is put back together
