I have a JGS968 shX SS Range/oven. The top left stove make an annoying ticking from the ignitor. To stop it I move the knob and eventually it stops. Is the problem with the control unit or the ignitor?

Hello, I will be happy to assist you with this problem. The problem you have described is a defective burner switch. There is a switch behind each burner to the cooktop. These switches power the spark module that actually does the "clicking". If a switch goes bad sometimes you can fiddle with it to make it stop clicking and sometimes you can not. GE sells the entire switch harness kit for your unit. You get all four switches and wiring. Replace this and you will be good to go. Here is a break down of the parts. You need part #323 on the diagram. I have included a link to the part as well. That should do it for you.
