My dishwasher has water in the bottom. After a cycle it seems to be empty but then we will end up with standing water. What should I look at? Also, I get black pieces/specs in my cups and glasses. What would be doing that? Are these connected or two seperate issues?
Optional Information: Make: Legacy Series Model: Quiet Series 200 Already Tried: Raised the return line from the dishwasher to garbage disposal to the top of the cabinet. Looking at the disposal to make sure the opening that return line connects to is open and not clogged.
Hello. Thank you for choosing Just Answer. I will be helping you with your question today. If the dishwasher isn't draining properly it won't rinse properly either. Open up the door and remove the lower rack. Then remove the lower spray arm by unscrewing the plastic nut in the middle. Then remove the 3 screws that hold the accumulator filter down. Then remove the 6 screws that hold the impeller cover on. Remove the impeller cover and remove the 1 screw in the top of the impeller. Now remove the last 2 screws that hold down the filter. Lift the filter up. Look into the sump now. You will see a red rubber piece in the back right corner. Just remove that and put it back together. That plastic piece is getting weak with age and preventing it from draining correctly.
