Have a GE Profile Dishwasher, Model PDW8200J10BB that I can't get the door open. Have checked other posts which say to "snap" it open, but I must be missing a technique. The latch may be broken but I don't want to do additional damage in getting the door open.

suggestions?

Already Tried:
running a full cycle thin shim around handle to try to open tring to snap it open, but that didn't work

Hello I'm Larry and will be helping you so please stay on line with me until we finish, If your not up to doing the repairs then please tell me now

you have to stick a screwdriver on each side of the latch at the top of the door and pop the door open and with the latch being plastic it will not damage the door, open break the latch so the door can open and then remove the screws from the inside edge, raise the inside panel and replace the door latch assembly
