I have a Maytag Performa Washer. It will not agitate but it does spin the water out, can you give me some idea what it might be or where to look.
Optional Information: Make: Maytag Model: PAVT144AWW Already Tried: checked pump if anything go into pump its ok replaced the belt check the plastic agitator in the washer removed the agitator see if stripped blew into water level hose to see if spindle would move it did not. that is all I have done.

Yes the motor does run when it is suppose to wash.
But the belt does not turn ?
The belt does not turn but the motor is not running at full tilt it is making a noise but not really running, sorry I didn`t me to lead you astray.

Not really a humming sound more like a maybe small grinding sound
