Customer Question

zanussi zwf 1220s washing machine issue.
We think that there is a small item of clothing trapped the wrong side of the washing drum. We can hear it when we manually rotate the drum when the machine is off.

How do we retrieve it?

Thank you

Hi

.

Ok theres 2 places were this can be. Either under the drum or at the front of the drum.

.

First open the door and were the seal is on the drum peel it back a little.

Then turn the drum by hand and see if theres anything in there as you turn it.

.

If that looks ok then you need to pull the washer out and remove the back panel.

There you will see the heater at the back of the drum towards the bottom.

Lossen the 10mm nut on there and remove the heater.

Then with the heater out you will be able to see inbetween the drums.

You should be able to fish out what ever it is.

.

Then refit the heater and see how it goes from there.

.

Let me know how it goes or if you need anymore info just get back to me.

.

Regards

Thank you for getting back to me. I have followed your first instruction and can't see any thing there.

However there is no access to the inside of the washing machine from the back. I can remove two fixings and gain access from above. Are the rest of the steps the same?

What does the heater look like?
Expert:  Daniel T. replied 3 years ago.

Hi

.

Sorry on this you need to remove the whole back half of the washer.

.

To do this remove the top and then look along the side towards the back you will see 2 screws either side, remove these.

Then look on the back at the bottom in each corner and remove the screws.

Then look on the sides in the middle at the bottom and remove the small white plastic cap and theres another screw behind there.

.

Then undo the plastic holder were the water pipes are.

Then you can remove the back half of the washer from there.

.

Then you will see the heater in the bottom of the drum. It will have 3 wires going to it.

.

Regards
