AnthonysTV :

if you have a freeview box

AnthonysTV :

tuning takes place in the box not the tv

AnthonysTV :

the tv will be set to some input depends on how you hooked it up

AnthonysTV :

do not scan ch with the tv

AnthonysTV :

use the freeview box to do that

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- : How do I scan the Freebox as the menu to do this does to appear on the screen only the menu to scan the tv?
AnthonysTV :

well first we need to know what input the box is hooked to

AnthonysTV :

scart?? hdmi?

AnthonysTV :

then we need to select the input from the tv that coresponds to the box

AnthonysTV :

then well see the box menu

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

HDMI

AnthonysTV :

ok on the LG tv menu

AnthonysTV :

with the box turned on

AnthonysTV :

selcet the HDMI input source

AnthonysTV :

it may be highlighted if the tv recognizes the box

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

One moment I will try to find the this source now

AnthonysTV :

ok

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

ok i found the hdmi scorce what do i do next

AnthonysTV :

do you see anything from the box on the screen?

AnthonysTV :

there are more than 1 hdmi's

AnthonysTV :

find the one that goes to the box

AnthonysTV :

check the tv back if you have to

AnthonysTV :

see which one its plugged into

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

I have selected hdmi 1

AnthonysTV :

and is the box connected to HDMI 1 in back of the tv?

AnthonysTV :

if it is not and HDMI 1 is not used

AnthonysTV :

put it there

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

it is connected into the tv

AnthonysTV :

in hdmi 1?

AnthonysTV :

or 2

AnthonysTV :

or 3

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

hdmi 1

AnthonysTV :

ok good

AnthonysTV :

and you selected hdmi 1

AnthonysTV :

so if you turn the freeview box ON

AnthonysTV :

you should see something

AnthonysTV :

try to change the channels on the freeview remote

AnthonysTV :

try to press MENU on the freeview remote

AnthonysTV :

NOT THE LG

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

the menu on the freeview remote is responding

AnthonysTV :

ok great

AnthonysTV :

so now do a channel scan in that menu

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

sorry was meant to say freeview remote is NOT responding

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

the screen

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

says no signal

AnthonysTV :

the the box is not working

AnthonysTV :

is it plugged in?

AnthonysTV :

do you see a power indicator?

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

yes is is plugged in the box is working

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

yes i see the blue power light

AnthonysTV :

and you are in HDMI 1 on the tv

AnthonysTV :

and the back of the box the HDMI cable is plugged into the tv

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

yes

AnthonysTV :

to HDMI 1?

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

yes

AnthonysTV :

try hdmI 2 ON THE TV

AnthonysTV :

move the cable in back of the tv to HDMI 2

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

ok

AnthonysTV :

double check the hdmi cable is connected in the back of the box

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

ok tying now

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

i done that... has made no change still seeing no signal

AnthonysTV :

do you have a dvd player with hdmi?

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

no

AnthonysTV :

on the LG tv

AnthonysTV :

SCROLL THROUGH THE INPUTS

AnthonysTV :

AIR

AnthonysTV :

COMP

AnthonysTV :

HDMI

AnthonysTV :

give them a few secs

AnthonysTV :

to lock

AnthonysTV :

none of them see this box?

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

ok trying this now

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

ive tried all those inputs and none found the box

AnthonysTV :

unplug the tv

AnthonysTV :

plug it back in and try again

AnthonysTV :

you either have a bad box

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

ok done it

AnthonysTV :

a bad cable

AnthonysTV :

or a bad main board in the tv

AnthonysTV :

you do not own any other HDMI devices?

AnthonysTV :

game?

AnthonysTV :

camera?

AnthonysTV :

nothing?

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

no

AnthonysTV :

we have no way to isolate the issue

AnthonysTV :

without testing with something else

AnthonysTV :

do you have another HMDI cable?

JACUSTOMER-iy43l4bc- :

ok it seem you can not provide a solution

AnthonysTV :

not without tools and other things to test with

AnthonysTV :

you are in a bad situation without having something to substitue a suspected bad device with

AnthonysTV :

there is NO SOLUTION and you are just going to run around in circles

AnthonysTV :

unless you replace something

AnthonysTV :

Thanks for the bad rating glad I took my time to help have a great day
