Hello, You are right. Three flashes means " Drain time-out". it means it took so long for the unit to empty its water.
The first thing to check is the water filter located at the front of the unit.
Drain the water first by pulling a small corrugated hose near the cover. Then turn the filter cover counter clock wise until the handle is in the vertical position. Then try to wiggle it while pulling it . It should come out. If you were able to pull it out, clean it of any dirt that you would find in there.
In some cases, if the filter is clean, then it could be the pump itself which is not running at all.
Thanks for answering. Can you describe how to pull the hose?
Let me explain what I can see. At the front left of the appliance is a flap. I've pulled it down and can see a white cap, about 3in dia, which unscrews to reveal a black circular piece of plastic, with a kind of cross in the centre and lugs around the edge. But I can't do anything with this. I can't unscrew it or gain purchase enough to pull it out. There is another cap, approx 1/2in dia, but that looks like it's just a blank.
OK. The white cap was part of the filter and should not have come apart from the black piece I could see in the appliance...removing the white cap should have brought the filter out of the appliance with it. I don't need any further help. Thanks
Thanks for the pictures. I'd managed to remove the filter (see previous post) and have cleaned it. Using the programmes, I can get the appliance to drain and to spin (and drain). With the filter removed, I can see the pump going round, and with the filter in place the water is pumped out of the drain hose. But on a wash cycle, which includes a spin cycle, the cycle stops before the spin and remains with the light flashing three times. I can turn the dial to off, then turn it back to the spin cycle and the spin / drain completes.
