I have a Bosch fridge freezer, model no. KGU 3201GB/01 FD7611.

Customer Question

I have a Bosch fridge freezer, model no. KGU 3201GB/01 FD7611. The freezer is working OK. The fridge is flashing E2 It works foe 4/5 days and then starts flashing again, and is not getting cold. Could it be the defrost thermostat?

Hiya,

E2 is a sensor fault.

The sensor is foamed in so cannot be changed.

There's a modification to the new control boards that takes this fault into account.

It's an expensive repair though.

You can get a replacement board from Bosch.

Sorry, not good news I'm afraid.

Hope this helps

Thanks

There is a sensor in side the fridge, under a small cover. Could it be this. Or is it worth trying as it only costs £18 to replace.

Hiya,

E2 refers to a sensor in the freezer.

Can you post the full E-Nr number of your machine please?

Include the 2 numbers after the /

Thanks

I can't see what numbers you are talking about. The only numbers on the fridge are the ones I sent you in my first question. The flashing E2 is definitely on the fridge side of the display panel.

Hiya,

Sorry, my mistake, the /01 is there.

The information I gave earlier was for the 02 and 03 machines, I'm so sorry.

Yes, try changing the sensor in the fridge.

If it works, you'll have managed to save an old machine from the scrap yard.

Good luck with the repair.

Thanks
