The fault you describe would suggest a fault in the heater circuit of the machine.
The heater, wiring and/or main control board can all cause this.
The most likely cause would be the heater.
You would need to test this by disconnecting the heater, insulating the wiring and running the machine.
If it trips, it's wiring or control board.
If it runs (won't heat though), it's the heater.
