My dishwasher is displaying the "tap" symbol and E25. The service

Customer Question

My dishwasher is displaying the "tap" symbol and E25. The service booklet advises to turn off the tap and electricity supply. My appliance is built in so I can not access the services. What do you suggest, do I need an engineer. I have checked the drain which is clear and reset using the 3 second hold on the start button. I am also experiencing difficulty changing the programme.

SparePartspro :

Thank You for using JustAnswer - My name is Tony and I am more than happy to help with your question today.

Can you post back a model number so I can check.

JACUSTOMER-169n42sc- :

I'm not quite sure which model it is there some numbers on the instruction booklet. 9000 299 907 (8712-1) SM6 8B is on the side of the door. Hope this helps.

SparePartspro :

This fault code refers to a blocked drain pump.
Remove the filter from the bottom of the dishwasher then take off the plastic pump cover. There will be a single screw holding it down.
Try moving the pump impeller, it might be jammed with debris.

JACUSTOMER-169n42sc- :

The dishwasher seems to have cleared itself, I neede to buy a suitable screw driver with the star end, hoxever I was wary of removing too much. I have used a sachet which Bosch recommended when I bought the appliance and run the prog through. The symbols have gone and the drain was empty.

SparePartspro :

OK no problem.
If you get any other bother with it, just reply back here.
The screw driver you are looking for is called a Torx screwdriver.

Thanks
