Hi my Zanussi Washing machine ZWF12205 stopped working mid

Hi my Zanussi Washing machine ZWF12205 stopped working mid cycle today , its will not do anything the end program light flashes 5 times then off and flashes another five times constantly. Hope you can help

Hiya,

Switch the machine on.

Close the door.

Press and hold the start button and the button to the left of it together.

While holding, the lights should flash.

Count the flashes from the end button.

Count the flashes from the start button.

Let me know how many flashes from each button.

We did this and start and end light illuminate together


Start light only once then end light 5 times.

It doesn't matter if they flash together.

I just need the number of flashes between pauses from each of them.

If you've got it right, you are getting error code E51

E51 is a motor circuit failure.

This is either a faulty motor, faulty control board, or both.

.

It's worth checking the carbon brushes in the motor though, just in case (although this normally generates E52).

.

If the carbon brushes are ok, check the wiring between the motor and control board.

If this checks ok too, I'm afraid you are looking at a costly repair for either a motor or control board and if both are required, an extremely expensive repair.

Check it out, see what you find and get back to me if you need more help.

Let me know what you find as there are options regarding repair of the machine, especially if you cannot do the work yourself.
