We have a 16070. The drain filter was blocked during a wash

Customer Question

We have a 16070. The drain filter was blocked during a wash cycle. Cleaned the filter but machine won't start - green flashing start button. Tried adding 2 litres of water and running drain but machine not starting. Any ideas?

Hiya,

can you post the full model number of your appliance please?

There should be letters and numbers.

.

Thanks.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.
It is a Zanussi ZWF 16070 W1

Hiya,

OK, thanks for that.

.

Try going into diagnostics and out again.

This can sometimes reset the board and get it working again.

.

Turn the machine off.

Press and hold together the start button and the button to the left of it.

While holding them, turn the dial 1 click clockwise to turn it on.

The lights flash, release the buttons and the lights scroll.

.

If you get them scrolling, turn the dial clockwise through each position to off.

Then, turn to any program and back to off.

.

Now try the machine again.

.

If all is well, it should be working again.

.

Try it out, let me know how it goes and get back to me if you need more help.

.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Tried and got the lights scrolling. Did as you suggested but still have the flashing green start button and won't start

Hiya,

OK, thanks for that.

.

Turn the machine off.

Turn it to any program.

Close the door.

Press and hold the two buttons together again.

.

The light should flash green and then red.

Let me know how many green flashes.

Let me know how many red flashes.

.

If your machine has a display, it will show an error code, let me know the code instead.

.

Thanks

Hiya,

Sorry, had computer problems.

.

You've got a fault in the motor circuit.

.

Your machine is reporting the main board controlling the motor is faulty.

.

There's a possibility you have a faulty motor that has damaged the main board.

.

Unplug the appliance, gain access to the motor and check the carbon brushes.

Check the wiring to the motor too.

.

Another possible cause is the motor is damp but, if you have an RCD in your fuse box, it should have tripped.

.

If everything appears ok, get a hairdryer onto the motor and get it nice and warm.

Then try the machine again.

.

Let me know what you find.

Thanks
