Hiya,
Can you post the model number of the appliance please?
Is the start light flashing?
If it is, how many flashes between pauses?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Hi. Model no. Is ADG 7460 and the start light is not flashing
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.
.
Do you have the fully integrated, semi integrated or free standing version of the machine?
.
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Fully integrated I think!
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.
.
Ensure the dishwasher is empty of water.
.
Select the 1st program.
Normally Rinse.
.
Switch off.
Press and hold the start button.
While holding it, switch on.
Keep holding till the start light comes on flashing.
Release the button.
Press start once.
Close the door.
.
The machine will now run an engineer test program.
If it finds a fault, it will stop and beep.
Open the door, the start light will be flashing.
Count the flashes between pauses and let me know how many.
.
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Hi 5 flashes
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
Thanks for that.
.
Are you sure it's not filling with water?
Try the machine on a new program and listen to it.
.
Your original description doesn't match the fault code you've just obtained.
.
When you start a program the drain pump runs first.
When this stops it fills with water.
Listen to it, does this happen before it begins beeping and pumping out?
.
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Sorry how do I get it off the engineer test it's only beeping when I close the machine now
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
Press and hold the start button until the start light goes out.
You can then select a program and start it.
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Sounds like the drain pump is running then it goes silent for a few minutes then it was beeping in the way it would normally when a programme is finished. It's not doing the finish beeps now and the only noise it made was I think, the drain pump
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, sorry, not going to be able to diagnose this remotely as it's not doing what it should be doing to match the fault code retrieved.
.
When you ran the engineer program, did it take in water?
.
If you don't know, run the test program again, listen to the machine.
Open the door before it beeps, is there water in there?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Hi yes there is some water didn't look a lot
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
The machine doesn't fill to the brim, only till it's above the filters a little.
.
OK, as it is taking in water the fault code now makes sense.
.
5 flashes is reporting a faulty circulation wash pump motor.
.
It can be the motor, the wiring and/or the control board.
.
In the majority of cases it's the motor.
.
Are you looking to repair this yourself or are you going to need an engineer?
.
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Will speak to my husband but will probably need an engineer
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.
.
let me know which way you want to go with it.
I can advise on how to gain access to the pump/motor or I can advise on a repairer (best price).
.
In the meantime, I'll send this as an answer. (I have to as I've advised what the fault code means).
When you are ready, just post and I'll continue working with you.

.
Hope this helps
Thanks
