Area behind the fan is warm I.e top of the grill on the back of the fridge is warm. Also the rattle sound s like it is coming from the back of the fridge where the fan/ motor is situated

Hi

Ok im afraid not good news. If the compressor is red hot and it not getting down to temperature inside the fridge its usually down to a system fault.

Either its a poor pumping compressor (more common) or its short of gas. But for either of these you need to get a fridge engineer in as they will need to put there gauges on the pipe work at the back to see whats happening in there.

From there they will be able to see how much gas in in there and what pressure its pumping at.

Now this isn't a cheap repair as a new compressor you could be be looking at about £150.

But this is a decent appliance and quite expensive. So its may be worth getting it fixed but that's up to you.

Sorry its not good news but you will need to get a fridge engineer in to fix this its not a diy repair.
