Do you have, and can you use, a multimeter?
Can you post the model number of the appliance please?
Is there any signs of life at all in the machine?

I have no multi meter, model is wmb 71442 w. When I pulled the machine out to look at the plug I put some pressure on the display and it came on for a few seconds, this happened about 10 times or so, since the nothing

OK, without a multimeter you're not going to be able to check very much.
.
Unplug the machine.
Check the socket is ok.
Check the plug is ok.
Take the top off of the machine.
Check the mains cable where it comes in.
Check the wiring to the facia board.

Hello, I've just done all of that, every thing seems fine, nothing seems loose or broken, I take it it'll be a new mother board then

If you assume power is getting to the board, then yes, it's going to be a board failure.

No, you can try pressing holding the start while you switch on, but, as there's nothing there to start with, a reset won't do anything either.
