Can you confirm the clock is set correctly?
Have you got the model number from the sticker inside the oven door?
The timer will go back to flashing 00:00 - can you confirm this?
Are you able to set the clock now?
does the clock not change with the + and - buttons?
Yes and then once set you should be able to set the cooker to manual
Is the dot flashing between the clock numbers?
If you press the + and - button at the same time does the dot start flashing?
Now set the clock
Ok do you have a function button?
Ok, the function button should change between countdown (semi automatic) fully automatic and manual
no icon, does the oven work now?
Ok, when it lights, keep it held in for 25 seconds - it is held in place with a thermocouple like an old fashioned boiler with a pilot light
Is it brand new?
Like I say it works on the same principle of an old style boiler where the thermocouple has to sit in the flame to keep the burner lit
Can you see the flame and the thermocouple?
I can confirm that if the oven is lighting then the timer is not at fault
Unless you have it on semi-automatic which works like a countdown timer
Remember, you are not setting the clock unless the dot is flashing, so you may have set the countdown timer at 13 hours and 18 minutes? (13.18 one of the previous answers)
Can you confirm what you mean about the top oven - where is the flame you can see
The top oven should not be timer controlled
yes, or reset the cooker again and do not adjust anything until the dot is flashing in the clock?
Enjoy the rest of the day - mine will be going in about 45mins time
Can you confirm what is wrong with the top oven?
ok, the timer should not affect the top oven
Perhaps just a matter of holding the knob in longer when you light it?
Normally if you are on countdown it will show the remaining cooking time
No problem, the only slight worry is the length of pipe and size of pipe from the meter
If this oven has a much bigger output than the last one and you light both ovens and all the rings does the gas pressure drop too much to keep the oven lit
the plumber should have checked the working pressure at the meter when at full rate when he fitted it
No problem, have a good day (cooking for 14) ;-)
I think you have to rate the question to close this
