We bought a new Indesit Condensor dryer for our holiday home

Customer Question

We bought a new Indesit Condensor dryer for our holiday home - this is our first visit since - and lo and behold the dryer doesn't appear to be working properly

its not collecting water
after being on for a while I'd also expect there to be some heat in the drum - but theres not

Any ideas ?

thanks

Niall

Hiya,
How long since you purchased it?
.
Can you post the model number please?
Did you have damp laundry in the machine when you tried it?
Which program did you use?

It will only have water in the container if there's steam to condense, as there's no heat it won't do anything.

Thanks

bought in July or August 2013

Model no IDC 85

Yes we did have damp laundry in it when we tried it - just out of washing machine spin program

Program ?? just put it on for 30 mins - no specific program

I seem to have heat now for some reason - not sure why

Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.
.
Bit of a strange one if you had no heat previously but do now.
.
Run the machine on a full drying program and see what happens.
If the machine had sat for some time it could have been a sticky relay not switching, and now it's sorted itself out.
.
Let me know what happens.
Thanks

ok..

question for you

there is water in the sump at the back - I've syphoned out out by sucking it out - so it would appear that its not getting from there to the water holder

is there a pump that is not working maybe ??

its definitely spinning with heat now

Hiya,
If you've removed water from the pump reservoir at the rear then it does suggest the pump stopped working.
Check it now, is the pump running at intervals?
Are you getting water up to the bottle?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

sorry

was off air for a while

no - still no water in the bottle

This is a brand new machine - never used til today I'm sure

house was rented in summer but not needed then

Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.
.
Did you check to see if the pump is running?
.
If the pump chamber fills with water, it cuts the heat on the machine.
.
I would guess your pump isn't running, pump, wiring or main control can all cause the problem, and you'll need to get Indesit out to repair the machine under warranty.
.
I wouldn't advise on taking it apart to check as you will invalidate the warranty if you do.
If you can, without doing any damage, check the wiring to the pump.
.
Good luck with the repair.
Hope this helps
Thanks
