Hiya,
Not good news I'm afraid.

E8 indicates a fault in the right hand induction module circuit.

To check anything, you need to take the hob out of the worktop.
Then, (with power off to it) you need to take it apart and check the induction module, wiring and control board for any obvious damage.

If there's no obvious cause, you need to replace the induction board.
This board has a price tag in excess of £320

Given the cost, I'd suggest trying for a fixed price repair from the likes of British Gas or Knowhow.
