KevinWhiteJA :

Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

How old is it?

KevinWhiteJA :

Have you tried to plug it in a different socket ?

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

yes

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

bought set 2012

KevinWhiteJA :

was there a power failure ?

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

Sept 2012

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

No

KevinWhiteJA :

OK, any blinking lights at the front ?

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

OOPs - no their was a lamp plugged in the other socket

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

There are no blinking lights

KevinWhiteJA :

OK, can you please try to plug it in different socket ?

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

Have just done that as asked

KevinWhiteJA :

ok and is still no lights...completely dead..is that right ?

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

Apparently completely dead.

KevinWhiteJA :

Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect the power cable going to the unit ?

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

This is not possible

KevinWhiteJA :

I am talking about main powers cable...If the cable appears fine then the problem seems to be with the power board of the unit ...you will have to open the back off the unit and check the main board...how good are your DIY skills ?

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

I am not happy about taking the back off the TV.

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

I guess I am where I started .

KevinWhiteJA :

OK, usually these units come with a 2 to 5 years of parts warranty...you can check with the manufacturer if you do not want to do it yourself...however, at times unplugging the power cable and plugging it back helps...you can also replace the cable if you want

JACUSTOMER-6sdo5n94- :

I will have to back to Sharp

KevinWhiteJA :

You can contact them at 08707 874837 to arrange a repair

KevinWhiteJA :

well I am still here willing to help you...

KevinWhiteJA :

The unit is just 15 months old...that is the reason I keep on saying it might be the power cable causing the issue

KevinWhiteJA :

if it is fine then it is the main board that has to be checked

KevinWhiteJA :

Why give a Poor Service rating when you are not even willing to follow my advice ?

KevinWhiteJA :

The unit does not have a "magic button" that you can press to get it working again
