Hi I have a de dietrich induction hob. Worked fine yesterday

Resolved Question:

Hi I have a de dietrich induction hob. Worked fine yesterday went to use today and nothing. The power supply is ok as the oven and extractor are still working and on the same spur. I was fitting new lights and tripped the rcd, between working and not working. Mabey this has something to do with this?

KevinWhiteJA :

Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

Please tell me its complete model number

KevinWhiteJA :

KevinWhiteJA :

the model number starts with E-nr

Customer:

wz5459u1/1

Customer:

oh ill have another look

Customer:

sorry cant see e-nr

KevinWhiteJA :

yes that is the model number...thanks

KevinWhiteJA :

how old is it ?

Customer:

not sure only moved in October and already installed

KevinWhiteJA :

is it completely dead ?

Customer:

yes

KevinWhiteJA :

ok, can you check few things with a multimeter ?

Customer:

no sorry don't have one

KevinWhiteJA :

I believe the problem is either with the PCB Module or the Power Board itself that is bad...

KevinWhiteJA :

from what you have described it seems the problem is with the PCB and will need replacement

KevinWhiteJA :

however, I will still test both of them before replacing any part

KevinWhiteJA :

are you willing to carry out this repair yourself ?

Customer:

I can turn my hands to most things

KevinWhiteJA :

OK

KevinWhiteJA :

if you do not have a multimeter then take this unit out and check for any loose wires to & from the control..try to disconnect and reconnect them, if the problem remains then you will have to test both of these boards and replace the part that is bad

KevinWhiteJA :

You can get back to me if you need any assistance and I will help with no additional charges.....Is there anything else I can assist you with today ?

KevinWhiteJA :

No problem...it seems to be the PCB nothing else

Customer:

ok is this easy to replace

KevinWhiteJA :

you will have to take the unit out and then disassemble it to replace the PCB

KevinWhiteJA :

basically I do not recommend it as a DIY

Customer:

ok so I will need to get a repair I am in Northampton any suggestion's?

KevinWhiteJA :
