Hi my dishwasher appears to be stuck in its cycle. The pump

Customer Question

Hi my dishwasher appears to be stuck in its cycle. The pump runs all the time, I cannot switch it off other than the main switch and there is no red power light on the front door panel. The water is running into the dishwasher and it drains ok, but it appears to be stuck like that.

Any ideas what could be the problem ?

Thanks
Craig

Hi Craig

KevinWhiteJA :

Welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

KevinWhiteJA :

and how old is it ?

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : ZSF 2420
JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : its about three years old
KevinWhiteJA :

Thanks

KevinWhiteJA :

please tell me its complete model number

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : Zanussi ZSF 2420
KevinWhiteJA :

it seems the pressure switch is stuck and that is causing this to run continuously

KevinWhiteJA :

you will have to unplug the unit

KevinWhiteJA :

and then pull it out

KevinWhiteJA :

after this lay it 45 degrees so that if there is any water it comes out of the unit

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : anything I can do here . Like remove the pressure swiv
KevinWhiteJA :

no need to remove the switch...if you tilt the unit 45 degrees...this will take off the excess water out and this should solve the issue

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : There is next to no water in the bottom of the dishwasher
KevinWhiteJA :

have you checked the sump as well ?

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : Do I tilt it 45 degrees towards me as I stand in front of it .
KevinWhiteJA :

no on its side

KevinWhiteJA :

let me know how it goes

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : no difference.
KevinWhiteJA :

and no water came out of the unit ?

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : Yes water came out
KevinWhiteJA :

ok, can you please take off the drain pump and clean everything...make sure there is no leak inside the unit...also after you have cleaned it completely turn it upside down so that it is dried up completely

KevinWhiteJA :

let me know how it goes

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : Do I access the drain pump from inside the unit or from outside underneath .
KevinWhiteJA :

you can take the casing off and then remove the drain pump

KevinWhiteJA :

Take the drain pump off and then remove any debris blocking/jamming the pump.

KevinWhiteJA :

Did that help ?

JACUSTOMER-m5j9ib82- : Success, thanks
