Ive got a bosch classixx dryer and while it is still working

Resolved Question:

I've got a bosch classixx dryer and while it is still working the clothes are still slightly damp at the end of the drying time. Do you know what the problem is likely to be and if it is easy to fix myself?

KevinWhiteJA :

Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

Please tell me its complete model number

KevinWhiteJA :

and how old is it ?

Customer: It's nearly 4 years old model no WTZ74104UK/10
KevinWhiteJA :

are you sure that is the correct model number ?

Customer: No sorry! It's WTV not WTZ
KevinWhiteJA :

Thanks

KevinWhiteJA :

It seems it is not heating properly

KevinWhiteJA :

the problem is with the thermostat or the heating element that is bad...the thermostat is located inside the rear of the unit near the heater assembly

KevinWhiteJA :

if you want you can test it with a multimeter for continuity

KevinWhiteJA :

no continuity means it is bad and should be replaced

KevinWhiteJA :

however, if it tests fine then the problem is with the heater assembly itself that will need replacement

KevinWhiteJA :

Also I believe you have already checked filter in the door and the condenser chamber....and they are clean

Customer: Oh dear. Yes they are clean. So I need to get someone to test it to see if it's fixable. Are heater assemblies expensive to replace?
KevinWhiteJA :

the thermostat will cost around £15 however, heater assembly will cost around £85

KevinWhiteJA :

sorry about the bad news

Customer: no that's fine thank you for answering my question so quickly
KevinWhiteJA :

You're welcome...you can either contact the manufacturer or a local repair center
