KevinWhiteJA :

and have you tried to leave it unplugged for few minutes ?

Customer:

We switched it off at the point but only for a few seconds. I

Customer:

We'll leave it off for a few minutes and try again

KevinWhiteJA :

Please do and let me know

Customer:

Just switched it back on and nothing happens. It appears that the 'temperature' button isn't working

KevinWhiteJA :

so the lights on control work ?

Customer:

Yes, the lights on control work, the oven works but when we press the temperature button nothing happens

KevinWhiteJA :

how good are your DIY skills ?

KevinWhiteJA :

Can you test temperature probe with a multimeter ?

Customer:

1. pretty poor

KevinWhiteJA :

KevinWhiteJA :

This is the temperature probe

Customer:

2 I don't have a multi meter

Customer:

we think the oven reaches the desired temperature when first putting the oven on but can alter the temperature thereafter

KevinWhiteJA :

OK, I understand...check the image...this is the temperature probe..If this tests fine then you will have to replace the timer control as this unit does not have a separate temperature button

KevinWhiteJA :

Even if it is reaching the desired temperature it can still be either the probe or the control

KevinWhiteJA :

the door is closing properly...is that right ?

Customer:

Yes, the door is closing properly

Customer:

It will be beyond us to replace a part. Can you advise who to go to for call out?

KevinWhiteJA :

You can contact the manufacturer at 0117(NNN) NNN-NNNN(option: 4) and check with them if they can still do it under warranty...as parts like control and probe usually come under 2 years warranty

KevinWhiteJA :

If you want to contact local engineer then you can contact www.repaircare.co.uk

KevinWhiteJA :

You can get back to me if you need any assistance and I will help with no additional charges.....

Customer:

OK, thank you. we'll give that a whirl. My wife is speaking to Caple as I write.

KevinWhiteJA :

OK great...Is there anything else I can assist you with today ?

Customer:

No, I don't think so. For your info Caple say we're not covered by warranty! so now calling local agent. you've been very helpful. Thank you
