KevinWhiteJA :

Please tell me its complete model number

KevinWhiteJA :

Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

How old is it ?

JACUSTOMER-8q35iryj- :

Hi. It is just over 8 years old (Nov 2005). I'm not sure where to find the model number, however there is one of the Siemens website which looks the same as mine - model number: ER657502E. I have also found the following number in my handbook for it - XXXXXXXXXX

KevinWhiteJA :

OK, do you hear a click sound ?

KevinWhiteJA :

or is it completely dead ? no lights nothing ?

JACUSTOMER-8q35iryj- :

Completely dead. No light on the ignition button. However the dials for the actual individual rings are OK and show a red light when I turn them. Obviously useless without the ignition working though.

KevinWhiteJA :

Sorry but I do not have a good news or a quick fix...you will have to unplug the unit and then take it off...after this check the Ignitor...also check if there is any damage to electronics...looking at the age of unit it seems the igniter might need replacement..

JACUSTOMER-8q35iryj- :

Hi. Easy said than done. It is a fully integrated unit in granite work surface. I have no clue how to get the thing out? Any ideas?

KevinWhiteJA :

Yes not so easy..the complete unit comes off and then you will have to take the hob out

KevinWhiteJA :

I won't recommend a DIY if you are not comfortable...you can also get a quote for repair from www.repaircare.co.uk

KevinWhiteJA :

I believe it will cost around £90 including labor
