Hi, welcome to Just answer
How old is it ?
newish just out of warranty
OK, as it is blowing cold air the problem is with the thermostat that is bad and will need replacement
however, if you take the back off the unit there is reset button on the thermostat
ok how do i replace?
just press it and see if it works again
to take the back off does nt seem to be as easy as other machines do i need to take the blow tunnel off, then the back panel behind that
just the small one
I mean the one that is in shape of belt
if you remove that...there is a thermostat with a reset button on it
there is the metal 1 which when removed all you see is the blower and nothing else there is a little plastic 1 which when removed there is a coil
if you are talking about the heater coil then the thermostat should be near that unit
this machine is the bosch self cleaning type wtw863s1gb
OK, if the reset is not there then can you test the heating element and thermostat located inside the back for continuity with a multimeter
found the trip but its not tripped
and still you have tried resetting it ?
ok, can you test them with a multi meter for continuity
i'll need to get a multi meter what am i looking for
there are two thermostats located inside the back and a heating element
usually the heating element assembly is replaced
you can test these parts for continuity
no continuity means bad element and will need replacement
the element assembly includes the thermostat and a new one will cost around £60
where can i get a replacement part
is the element the part where the trip is
You can get parts here
You can get back to me if you need any assistance and I will help with no additional charges
Is there anything else I can assist you with today ?

the multi meter reading across the coil is 109.3
OK, I hope you set the meter to its lowest setting and then checked it ?
and the element was removed when you have checked it ?
set it to its lowest setting please
when you say element removed i' checking the coil where the trip is,
if you go onto the bosch parts site its number 0512 is this the correct part
sorry for the long pause
was checking all the diagrams there
yes that it is the part
just to clarify we have set the multi meter to 200 the readibng is 109.3(what should it be?), teh motor is working and the compressor is blowing cold air so is this the part thats breacking down or is it the thermostat?
The meter should be set to its lowest setting not at 200 ...if the dryer blows cold air usually the problem is with the thermostat that is bad and will need replacement
the lowest multi meter ohms setting is 200 we're getting a reading of 109.3, the thermostat is only £5 rather than £50 for the element, which 1 do you think needs replacing if any
I still believe it is the thermostat
is this part number 0527, sorry to be a pain but want to order the right part
also how do we get to the part to replace?thanks
Yes that is located inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct..
